Rev. Prof. Jerry Orhue is the Senior Pastor of Gracevine International Christian Chapel (Gracevine Chapel), with headquarters in Benin City, Nigeria. He has been preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ under the power of the Holy Spirit for four decades.
He has in the last 22 years combined his calling as teacher and pastor with full time academic career as Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Benin, Nigeria where he currently serves as Professor of Biochemistry and Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences. Having previously served in several ministerial capacities for 30 years, he was in 2016 mandated by God to pioneer a new movement with focus on preaching the gospel of Christ in its pure, native, original, and undistorted form, devoid of legalism and traditions of men. He believes and teaches that salvation is purely the work of grace and that the believer in Christ has passed from death unto life. He is an ardent believer in holiness inspired and driven by our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
He is a compassionate leader, a simple teacher of real time practical Christian living and an amazing motivator. He believes his most sacred assignment in life is to help as many people as possible find the light of Christ, enjoy a beautiful relationship with God that is devoid of fear, guilt and condemnation. Fired by his belief that the gospel is for the total man, he is involved in a number of community and youth development endeavours under the Jerry Orhue Initiative. He believes that a major role of the church is to positively impact community – immediate and distant (www.jerryorhue.org). Rev. Prof. Orhue is happily married to Stella Orhue and they are blessed with four children.
