The Bible clearly states, “Evil communication corrupts good manners.” As Christians, we often underestimate the impact of being around people who disregard others and God. However, what we consistently see and hear shapes who we become. If we allow negative influences to persist, they can gradually change our behaviour.
Too often, we let our guard down, allowing those close to us to act negatively without challenging them. Instead of responding with indifference or humor, we must stand firm against such behavior, just as Jesus did when he drove the money changers out of the temple. This firm response shows our commitment to upholding our Christian values in every situation.
As we grow in our faith and relationship with God, we must diligently guard our hearts and environments. This vigilance helps us recognize changes in our surroundings and relationships, ensuring they positively influence us. We should distance ourselves from those who lack good manners, reverence for God, and respect for others. Associating with such people is not harmless. May God help us navigate these situations with wisdom.
