Averting Seasons of Disaster

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. Psalm 91:1-3

Those who choose to dwell in the shelter of the Most High will find a peaceful refuge in the comforting shade of the Almighty. In order to receive the Lord’s protection, it is essential for us to dwell in the location where this protection is accessible.

In every season of life, there are hidden dangers that can pose threats to individuals. In today’s world, many people are grappling with significant challenges, afflictions, and ailments that drive them to seek comfort within the walls of a hospital. The increasing prevalence of sin is leading individuals to abandon their destinies. There is a lot happening in our surroundings, and it is crucial to acknowledge the undeniable reality of these challenging circumstances.

In order to avert this season of disaster, we must choose to make the Lord our refuge and secure dwelling place. When we choose to live our lives under the protection of God Most High, who is like a secret hiding place for us, we can be assured that we will always be shielded from harm.

According to Psalm 91:1, ‘He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High (El Elyon) shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (El Shaddai)’. Maintaining a conscious awareness of God is incredibly significant. Developing a daily awareness of His identity and the full extent of His capabilities is crucial for us. In Psalm 91:1, God is referred to as the Most High (El Elyon) and the Almighty (El Shaddai). The term “El Elyon” is used to emphasize the supreme authority and power of God. Good and evil coexist, but their strengths are unequal. God is widely regarded as the ultimate being, surpassing all other entities and individuals. The term “El Shaddai” is used to describe the abundant and all-encompassing nature of God. He will offer care, support, and ensure that all of our needs are met, no matter the circumstances. Those who reside in the protective refuge of the Most High (El Elyon) will find solace and security in the presence of the Almighty (El Shaddai).

God serves as both a refuge and a fortress. It is essential for us to adopt and embrace this mindset in our lives. When we find solace in the Lord, there is no need to anxiously seek protection from other sources. When we establish a solid relationship with God, we will be adequately prepared to face and overcome any obstacle that comes our way.

The entire Psalm 91 assures us of God’s all-round protection as we dwell in His secret place. When we place our trust in God, a covenant is formed that provides protection, allowing us to navigate challenges without even being aware of them. The actions of the enemy will have no impact on us whatsoever and no weapon that is formed against us will have the power to prevail. According to Psalm 91:7, even if a thousand people fall at our sides and ten thousand at our right hand, no harm shall come near us. It is important that we know these scriptures and firmly stand on them by believing and confessing them.

Beloved, It is important to prioritize our safety and well-being and make the wise decision to rely on God through faith. It is expedient that we refrain from placing ourselves in potentially dangerous situations. We should always remember to trust in God no matter what happens and do our utmost to refrain from engaging in sinful acts. We must make it a priority to set aside some time to engage in the practice of meditating on scriptures and praying. It is necessary to invite the Holy Spirit to remove fear from our hearts and guide our steps as we navigate through each season. Amen
